Baptism Dream Meaning Psychological meaning: The baby (or adult) being baptised is you. The next stage in your life, your plans and hopes, are being blessed by your higher self. You are being reborn into something new or better. The baby may represent a new way of being, a new attitude to life or a new approach to others. Immersion in water represents death and emergence from the water represents resurrection to new life. The old 'negative you' has died and it is likely that this 'new you' will be successful. Your new attitude will bring positive things to you. The dream may also be of a spiritual nature. Your faith in God has been renewed and you are coming closer to self-realisation and spiritual fulfilment.

Bat Dream Meaning Psychological Meaning: Bats were considered by the early Christians to be 'birds of the Devil' because of their association with darkness and their similarity to rats. They share the sexual lust of the Devil. (The devil is a corruption of the cloven footed god Pan who played his pipes in celebration of nature and sexuality.) In particular, vampire bats, that take human form in Dracula by Bram Stoker, represent predatory sexuality for it is only from the virgin's blood that they can drink. Maurice Richardson in his book Psychoanalysis of Ghost Stories tells us that Dracula, with his dark heroism and superhuman image, has an unconscious erotic appeal for women. He argues that the story only makes sense when analysed from a Freudian standpoint. Alternatively, a vampire bat may represent a person in your life who is depleting you of self-confidence or resources.

Bat Dream Meaning Mystical Meaning: To dream of one of these universally loathed creatures is a portent of disaster. They are considered to be an omen of death and injury. Because of their blindness they are also considered to be a prophecy that warns of danger to the eyes. Bath Dream Meaning Psychological Meaning: Bathing represents a psychological cleansing process. You are trying to get rid of old attitudes. Water can symbolise your emotional nature. You may be trying to cleanse yourself of negativity. Perhaps you have feelings of guilt or feel uncomfortable with your feelings. You may feel that your natural sexual feelings are 'dirty thoughts'. It has also been suggested that a bath symbolises the waters of the womb and a person's desire to escape back to the security of the amniotic waters.

According To Freud, a man who dreams of having his beard cut fears castration- a symbol of loss of sexual confidence. If a woman dreams of growing a beard it may show a desire to play a man's role i.e. to have a more powerful job or be assertive. Long beards are associated with old age and wisdom. A wizened old man with a long grey beard represents the insight that comes from the unconscious. It is your own higher self that can guide you to greater knowledge and understanding.
